No Ones Watching

When no one is watching, doesn’t that give some the freedom to do certain things they wouldn’t normally do when certain people are keeping tabs or watching what we do? We get so concerned with what others think about us and what we do, and in the midst of this, we forget that the only thing that matters is that Father is watching us and He cares for us far more than people do. This happens more in religious settings and congregations than anywhere else. Growing up in an institution, it becomes very noticeable because I used to put on a show in church sometimes, and then when I wasn’t there, go out and do something that was not of God in the sight of some who would forbid certain things. I am sure a lot, if not everyone, has done something that has caught eyes and bad attention that forces them to fake it and hide in some cases. However, everything changes when our focus becomes more on Father and living for him every single day. We began to notice how we behave when we care that God cares for us, and we start to realize that God may not be too keen on some of the things we do, instead of caring so much about what so and so would think and act upon that by acting differently in front of them, we care more about God and use his PERSONAL conviction to lead us and guide us… See the difference? Then we are free to NOT care what others think and who is watching us because ultimately God is our personal leader and is big enough to be God in our lives… It’s hard to stop hiding but we can do it, if we stop caring who see's us.

You have such a warm heart Nicole, I love it. You make it seem like God is not out to get us but rather draw us closer to Him. It seems as if you have a close relationship with Jesus. I am one of those people who cares more about what others think of me than what GOD does. I'm gona keep annoying you cause i feel nothing ,nothing, can bring me to a place where I surrender. I hope you are right and his grace brings me to my knees but the more I think about His will the more impossible the christian life seems.

Hi, Jordy. This is a wonderful blog so full of Father's love. I'm friends with Nicki and Matthew and I think you've picked a great set of friends.

You said something that really shows that you may not be as far away as you think. You said, "the more I think about His will the more impossible the christian life seems."

There's so much wisdom in that and I don't think you even know it. The christian life IS impossible. No one, not even the apostle Paul, was ever able to live it. The only person who ever successfully lived this life is Jesus and his offer is to live it through you.

Actually, it has absolutely nothing to do with you surrendering to him. We can't even do that. The christian life is lived by a growing awareness of our union with him. It has absolutely nothing to do with what you do or don't do.

As you grow in your awareness of him, he will begin to live his life through you with litte or no effort on your part. By awareness, I don't mean a physical feeling. I mean just a simple knowing that he's there.

This will become more real as you meditate and think about his life in you and not by you doing anything.

thats right Aida... IMPOSSIBLE. I feel it is absolutely impossible. Pray that I would embrace that and be ok with it. Cause i do think its overwhelmingly difficult and sometimes even God doesn't know what He's asking of us. ha ha

Hi Jordy,

He does know it's impossible and that's why he doesn't expect us to do it. He knows we can't live the christian life and he never expected us to do it. That's why Jesus came. He wants to live this life through us. God want us to admit we can’t do it and that seems to be where you are right now. Believe it or not, it’s a very good place to be.

I would suggest just telling God that you just can’t do it and ask him to do it through you. It’s okay to ask over again until it become real to you. He really does understand. He hasn’t set us up for failure. It’s only when we get to the place that we know we can’t do it that he can start doing it through us and that’s what he’s wanted to do all along.
