A New Earth

I was watching Oprah this afternoon and she was talking about this book, A New Earth, Awakening Your Life’s Purpose, by Eckhart Tolle. The title seems a little New Agie, but I guess that would be called, (judging the book by its cover). Has anyone heard about this book and what its about? Oprah was interviewing some people who have read it, and to me it sounds pretty uplifting. This guy was saying as he was reading it, that he noticed how negative he was being and realized he doesn’t have anything to be negative about. So others seem to like it and twice they mentioned certain scriptures from the bible, not that that makes it good or not, but I am just kind of curious. I may go check it out soon…

Well, being the first to comment on my own blog I just have to say that I went ahead and bought the book! Haven't started it yet because I found 'Wide Open Spaces" by Jim Palmer as well and so I bought two new books in the same day! Kind of wierd, but I am praying to see what one I should crack open first! I will keep you posted!

You are too cute on this one sis!

My wife and I as well as my daughter where watching the O show as well...we all said the same thing . . . it is a tad new agy. . ..but yet we mentioned about O's position...about Jesus...I conservatively said...I have rarely seen O Christ Centered....She seems to be a Christian...holds the values...but we could not agree as a family...where she stood...I personally am perhaps the fly in the ointment...If it doesn't preach and teach Jesus Christ...one oughta Run...I am interested in your take...I want too want to read the book...it has taken off according to O...but....Nicki let us know..if it is worth parting the cold hard cash whether American or Cannuck...

I would use T. Austin Sparks' question: What is the measure of Christin this?

Good points there brother! I may have just bought it on the fly and not really thought it through, I am notorious for doing that, but, I still need some input from Father. Still searching for the reason why the book intrigues me so....

It intrigues me as well Niki...I want to read it so badly my skin hurts...giggle...if nothing else it helps us engage the people around us and helps us point them to Jesus...I am still interested in your thoughts...

I think in all things...'What is the measure of Jesus...in this?'

Share as Father reveals..please...dearest Sis...

auh okay! I will read. Father seemingly led me to it, and so I will read it! I've been pondering on it, rummaging through it and discovering that I am more interested in where this guy is coming from and what he is relaying to the reader than anything else right now!

So, here goes! If I can make it through the 3rd chapter it is well worth talking about, and if not, then I will hope to find the reason in buying a book just to waist my spare time reading it. LOL
